About the Health Coach
I'm Hilary Stewart, the founder and health coach for Rediscover Wellness, located in Winston-Salem, NC.
I specialize in providing tailored support to working healthcare professionals who struggle with persistent stress, low energy, and are challenged by figuring out how to navigate towards a path of wellness. I work to provide my clients with guidance, motivation, and empowerment to make self-determined health changes that work.
Recognizing that we each come from unique life experiences and have our own attributes, needs, and desires, I firmly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to health and wellness. As a health coach, I meet individuals where they are and together, we turn current challenges into future successes. We identify the key elements that are necessary to lead you positively toward your desired health destination.
With over a decade of experience as a Certified Dental Assistant working in various office settings, I've gained valuable insights from individuals that are hesitant to make changes. My personal experience working with diverse age groups in different settings taught me the value of active listening and providing clear, respectful communication. Everyone feels, learns, and behaves differently and by taking the time to actively listen, one can appreciate a more conscious thought process so that the best support can be provided. As I continuously worked to improve my own wellness goals, I also discovered the benefits of using personal strengths, values, and support systems in order to more successfully commit to and sustain long-term health objectives. The nature of health coaching itself is committed to being with clients, providing active support, and showing genuine curiosity with an open mind so that they can determine their own strengths, values, and support systems to more positively move forward with increased energy and lowered stress.
I hold a Master Health Coach Certification from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, which is partnered with the American Council on Exercise and accredited by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching. Additionally, I've obtained two life-stage certifications: one to support families with children (L.E.A.N. Start) and another to educate adults of all ages (Prime Time Health) who aspire to attain and maintain healthier lifestyles.
Beyond my Health Coach Certifications, I have a Diploma in Dental Assisting from Forsyth Tech in 2010, graduating at the top of my class. I pursued certification through the Dental Assisting National Board to offer even more qualified care to dental patients. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007, where my dedication to learning inducted me into the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society. My diverse educational background has provided me with a strong foundation to better understand the complexities of human health and well-being. As a result, I approach health coaching with a holistic and evidence-based perspective.
When I'm not coaching, I enjoy staying active and challenged with Pilates, strength training, and running. In the kitchen, I eagerly experiment with nutritious whole-foods and baked goods to win the taste approval of my family. I love sharing quality time with family and friends, delighting in the outdoors, tending to garden plants and herbs, reading, joining in on educational networking opportunities, and cherishing the funny and adorable moments with my fur-babies- a 12-year-old Shih Tzu and a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd mix.
